sbc chev guys take deep calming breath right now .

hey all , for my , not old school , but vintage gasser project , vehicle was brought in from states in mid  70,s by Dizzy Dean Murray . I,ve owned it since 1983 ish  , spent all its time in storage .

now potentially heading for ebay . just a question I been mulling over . I want to stick an engine in it , its set up for a small block . Do you think it would be more appealing with like a 6 carb 283 or just use a 350 with an old tunnel ram

I have access to an older build 283 usual mods  6 carbs I think the shift point is some where,s around 6200

option 2 would be a I believe 60 over 70 ?? sbc with a funky old tunnel ram on it supposed to be around 11 or 12 to one compression , runs like a friggin civic with bad plug wires but from 3500 to a bit over 6 pulls hard .

I can trade stuff for both of these motors , but which of the two would you think more appealing visually in the pictures in the ad ad , I think the 6 carbs would be the choice .

( cause we all know more carbs means its gotta have nore power right ?? , an old sbc joke ) ..77.

I'd vote for a 350 with nice working Tunnel Ram

6 carb is not gasser material

There are 100 s of gasser sights

NEVER seen a 6 pack

Since you are asking. I would think you have got to go with the tunnel ram. Nice scoop on top. just screams drag machine. The six carbs are a show only deal. Ed

ok Thanks for the input guys an luckily the tunnel ram dude is grumpier then I am usually . BUT I can trade him vintage s an s stuff for Harley that was basically given to me summer of 78 ??. Maybe 79 . From a Harley project I sold off in in 82 ish . So I have virtually nothing into it and he,ll think I,m the greatest buddy in the world ..77.

( If I can get it outta storage this year . I,ll put up some pics of the set up )

Well after an hour of beer , b , s ing and what not . The old s o b tells me he got rid of the the sbc,s . Then tried a low ball offer on the Harley stuff . So I sold off the s an s stuff to another old dude and am forging ahead .
Next question th 350 , glide or a 2.64 geared borg warner sooooper t 10 4 speed trans ??.
Remember I,m looking for opinions on making this thing more sale able on evil bay .
I,m kinda leaning towards the sooooper t 10 , but thinking a stick might be scary to potential bidders buyers . Maybe go auto to appeal to a wider market ?? ..77.

been cleaning my garage out and yeah ... looks like I either sold or traded off my old T handled hurst in line shifter . But I do have another one , A Quick Click ?? works great fairly short throws .
This is why fellas , ya gotta keep notes on every thing , even if sell or trade some thing ... keep the other dudes info .... ya never know if your gonna need it back ha ha ..77.
