Carl,
obviously you don't low that Grand Bend has been sold to make way for condos. At least that's the last I heard. SO I guess you'll have to come to Sparta for some racing.

Didn't hear that but I will be coming for sure..
I used to race there... and it was the best...
Now I enjoy watching.....
I guess as a spectator, I should suck it up, and take a umbrella (for sun) and sunscreen and leave when I'm tired....
As a retired tire shop manager, it frustrates me to see the potential of spectator revenue get lost.....
I have never been to the track at Grand Bend. I have been to Cayuga, Sparta, Mosport and Shannonville ..... I do not remember seeing electrical hookups at any of the tracks I just mentioned. Everyone (who came equipped) ran their own generators for power. As for why the Bend doesn't offer hookups .... maybe the cost to install such a system is HUGELY cost prohibitive. It simply wouldn't be worth it to incur a $300,000 (or whatever) initial outlay (if they can even afford that), just to "rake in" $1000 (hopefully) a weekend (and obviously not every weekend of the year too) and that's only IF the racers pay for it. Anyone who already has a generator is probably not going to be interested in paying for a hookup.
As for the speakers not facing the crowd, blocking spectators view of stuff, I'd suggest bringing this to the attention of whomever runs this venue ..... they might really appreciate the feedback.
I can understand waiting for the "show cars" that were paid to make an appearance (wheelstanders, John Force for eg) but they shouldn't be waiting for cars that aren't in the lanes when the class is called. Either you're ready or you're not. Again though, never having been to the Bend, maybe this "Windsor Weekend" is more of a friendly event, where "we're all neighbours" and the racing is more for fun, so they don't mind giving another racer some extra time.
As for the 7.75 ProMod ...... those guys have some work ahead of them as a competitive ProMod should be running in the hi five second range.

Wonder if this is legit. I just did a quick Google search and can't find any mention of the track being sold. I'd figure there'd be at least some mention of it somewhere if it was true, either that or they're really good at keeping it quiet.
