As most of you know I had problems with Lant/hagarty when I had an electrical fire in one of my vehicles. I shopped around & went with Vintage Ins out of Lindsay. Although the deductible is a little higher the coverage is [to me] better, they cover the sales tax on 'total' loss where it wasn't before, $7500 in parts that I might have stored for each vehicle & the usual driving rules about not taking it shopping or to work etc. My premium on the Pontiac dropped by a "large" amount on modified vehicle & Avanti went up by 20 bucks!!!  I contacted Lants before switch, to see if there was a penalty for cancelling early,NONE, but their attitude  hasn't changed, no question as too why, seemed to "couldn't care less they were losing a long time client" just said have new co. sent the request to cancel form, have a nice day!!!! SO Im done with Lants, & pleased so far with new coverage, should be ahead in a yr. after getting both cars appraised, which by the way is a MUST even if you are with Lant's as they have an "OUT" if you don't have written proof of agreed  value if it goes to a dispute & especially if you haven't updated your coverage [ Ins. Co. always seem to have an "out] Just ask me about claim, they sure found an out fast but had to "back up" after a long fight

Pete I had insurance with the Co-operator's until a girl broke her neck in my pool. I had to hire an attorney as they were trying to get me to sign a document I could not understand and did not want me to take it home to study but I took it anyways. My attorney said it was a waver to reimburse Co-operators of all the money they would have to pay out. Some lady arrived at the hospital trying to get information claiming to be a grandmother. They wanted to interview the wife and I separately but they only did me when I showed up with an attorney Co-operators trying to get us to slip up in some way I guess. We went to hell and back with them and the funny thing was there was never a claim.

We changed insurance companies and took out the pool.

I also have a bad experience with co-operators in Port Perry from a few years ago.
I do not recommend the use of co-operators either.
