I usually don't check intros on other boards I frequent, but I also know that they're very important to some folks, so here goes;
Mike, from Calgary (pretty close to Canmore)
I was an Ontario Rodder in 1986/87 but ran home to Calgary from the big smoke of Mississauga.
I joined up mostly due to the favourable posts on here after my recent drive to the Jalopy Jam Up, and because I do make occasional trips east to visit relatives in the Lombardy area as well as to attend events like the Canadian Street Rodding Hall of Fame Galas. Although this year I think I've blown the latter budget on the road trip earlier this month.
Those that knew me in the past will associate me more with my 1928 Roadster which I'm still driving and is in it's 30th summer of use.
Those I've met most recently at the Jalopy Jam Up will know me from my butterfly delivery vehicle.
HI MIKE : We meet again ( on the screen ) Now I get to officially welcome you to ONTARIO RODDERS -- When I originally said we had not been introduced ( you were very busy ) I may have persued it more if I had known you had roots in LOMBARDY -- So this welcome comes from Beautiful Downtown PORTLAND ( 20 kms )-- Again , WELCOME ABOARD !! -- DON / Fleet 51
Don, I spent a lot of summers growing up on the Bay Road along the Lower Rideau. My grandparents had a place there which is now my Uncles home. There used to be a TV show called Cottage Country which I used to watch regularly just because portions were shot in their yard.
Mike

Hello Mike and welcome. A fellow near Renfrew won that 57 and it sat at his place for quite a while. Sometime there was a carb fire and it scorched the hood. My buddy Willy Kovacs bought it and drove it awhile, once had it in the Ottawa carshow. He kept it for years and then sold it to a fellow in Pembroke that has Mac's trany shop. It was rebuilt and then sold Toronto way(?) That's all the info my mind can get out.
