One of the best ways to sort out a chassis is to view a video of the leave. Some of us old farts from back in the day also used to put a vertical line on the slick as that can be a big help sorting out troubles. I have done some hot rod work with a 56 GMG (hopped up 455 olds) and never had an issue with wheel hop in it so it may be something else. One thing I have run across several times with cars with good power and wheel hop was they didn't balance their slicks and so watching the tires in the burnout you can pick this up right away as here is no reason for a slippery tire to wheel hop. A set of traction bars will cure it quickly cheaaply and easily if it is a suspension problem. And I would make not buy . Then you know they will fit.
I had set aside my sept 19th for attending and moved anything interfering to this weekend. I ran out of move room and so was unable to attend as I couldn't be three places at once. Since my days of racing are over anyway I can live with that although I always enjoy being there. My Niece Lori Rushlow was racing her two Pontiacs , one supercharged and one not. I wonder how she did. Anyway couldn't have been a nicer day for it.

I could not get Dog Spit to fire on Saturday morning. Finally ended up putting in a new distributor and got it running mid afternoon. I was so pi**ed off, I sulked in the house the rest of the day.
I was happy to see decent weather. Hope it was well attended. I was talking to Lori on Thursday and had hoped to see her run. Congrats to all who showed.
Congrats on A great weekend Doug. Cool Stude! I told Miss Mandy Mae last year she was going to give drag racing a GOOD name.
I just talked to Bill on the phone. He said you both had a ball running.
Heard from my niece Lori, with the Poncho Gran Prixs. White Lightning, the white car ran a best of 15.6. The Black Widow as she calls her supercharged car ran a best of 14.7 on its very first outing. Nice to see her holding up family tradition. She is by the the way a Mom of four and by profession following in my footsteps spinning wrenches. Both cars were ones she was given and she brought them back to life. And for those who gave them too her. A hearty thank you. Very kind of you to do so. As you will notice she made the best of them.

bill's vw gasser at armdrop. i like bill's car so much i find myself looking at it when i should be paying attention to what i'm doing at go time !!! hahahaha.
Well mine is for sale by the guy who bought it from me. The tires are worth more then he paid me so I imagine it could be had for a decent price. Once I broke my spine there was no point in me finishing it and it was painful to work anyway. Chassis is pretty well done. Ladder bars were just tacked to the rear end but the hard stuff was all done. Even had a trysee experimental motor in it.
If VW bites it, you would have two orphans to race! Talk about cornering the market! I got the body from Bill in the first place.

it's really a shame that you had that mishap don, it would have been sweet to see you and bill paired up. i think over the winter when bill gets the ladder bars on his car it will really show in his et's. i'm havin' too much fun with the stude to get another car. lol.

I can understand that. That is how I felt with the dragster. It was one of the most fun cars I ever had. Even if I hadn't gotten hurt though my driving days were over. I knew it and that run was to have been my last anyway. Tis OK , I made my first legal dragstrip pass in July of 1966 at Cedres Dragstrip in Quebec. Still have that first time ticket. Flag starts and class differences were distance offsets. Had a lot of fun over many years. No regrets including even the crash. Life has been very good to me. I enjoy watching your car run. You know being happy with your ride is a gift. All to often folks get consumed with bigger better louder faster shinier and an enjoyable hobby goes from fun to an obsession that has lost all semblance of enjoyment. Trick seems to be say to yourself, "This is the car I have chosen to race. Let me see how well I can get it to run." Now that is fun as you already know.
