Hey biscuit...given your avatar, I suspect you know exactly what I am talking about and last night was no exception! The track seemed to dry up quick and then turned into a complete dust bowl when the sprints took to the track. Even after jumping in my pool and a 20 min shower after getting home last night, I am still finding a bit of dirt in my ears and in the corners of my eyes...but it is all part of the experiance and a small price to pay.

I have seen this class a number of times but I am still in awe of them as the drivers strap in and pilot these 1200 pound, 700hp direct drive rockets around the track. It is truly amazing to watch the experianced guys pitch and navigate the top of the track as they appear to sideways almost the entire lap...

Sadly, the guy I cheer for and one of the local track favorites, Chris Jones - 11J who came into last night 3rd in points and started in 8th in the feature was involved in an accident on lap 1 or 2. Although the damage didn't look too severe, he got the car refired and completed the restart and another lap then pulled off into the pits with what I suspect was steering/suspension issues. Hopefully they wrenched on the car last night and will continue to do so today in prep for tonight.

Even if you are not a fan of round-d-round dirt track racing, you should see the sprints at least once!
Racing starts at 6:00 tonight.
Cheers guys and enjoy the rest of your long weekend.
