Friend's recent purchase , 87 Buick Grand National

Went with my buddy a couple of weeks ago to eyeball a 87 Buick Grand National that had been owned for 23 of its 28 years by a guy who could just never get around to enjoying it like he wanted to .....got married and had 3 kids ....both parents work , kids are active etc. He managed to put 73K ( kms ) on it in 23 years and kept it well stored the rest of the time . The car has a few fixable issues but needed to be cleaned thoroughly and driven , new gas etc .  My buddy made the deal for a car he has always wanted so is quite exicted .

It is partially detailed in this pic ....waiting for a headliner replacement , couple of door / window moldings .

Is the 3.8 the standard GM 3.8 or are there other internal mods from GM ? Head gaskets different ? Four-bolt mains ?? Anything you GM guys could add would be great . Car runs strong after some tweaks .

Seen one today up on a hoist, getting a complete custom stainless exhaust. Looked identical to that one.
