If I had one I sure as hell wouldn't be bringing it in for any recall without them handing back the extra they charged for the diesel. Mileage will probably tank when they do the fix.
My question would be how will the resale of one of these work when it is time to get tested again. Auto Fail ???. What about the dealer trade in ? Oh boy
I have a 2012 golf tdi wagon. I'm waiting for my letter from some fancy law firm to join their class action suit. I have a feeling somebody is going to profit from this and it isn't me. And I'm worried what they're going to do for the recall, it seems every time a vw mechanic touches this car something else fails.
Is that drag beetle diesel? Look at the smoke and the tires are not even turning!!

I've got an '03 TDI. Too old to be affected by this mess.
I feel bad for the guys at the dealer who are going to get the brunt of the abuse over something beyond their control. But I'm with you Grumper, every time my car went to the dealer something was stripped or missing. Usually minor but it still irritated me. I must say their warranty has been awesome. Twelve year old car and they replace the rear hatch and both fenders due to a little rust last year.
and here I was eyeballin the nice lookin vw 4 door sedan sitting on the ramp at the dealer next to the hotel I've been stuck in all summer thinkin "that don't look so bad for a daily boot about car "
mmm but I think now I'll just pass on that idea and keep looking into how people have been making out with the non eco boost ford fussions
I think even the gas VW's sales will be affected by all this . We have a super legal beagle in this area representing a class action suit ....I'm thinking his pockets will be filled in the end while the VW owners will end up with a coupon toward a new VW .
The Fusion was an excellent car starting in 2006 . Guys working at Ford were down playing them because " they were made in Mexico " . Put it this way , it was the only time I ever saw Toyota owners coming to a Ford dealer .....they wanted to see the Fusion because of the top quality marks Fusion was receiving from Consumers Reports and J.D. Power etc.
I took a 4 cylinder for a demo and was very impressed with the performance and the gas mileage .
Actually it is called Reifen Rauchen (tire smoking) and is the ultimate form of Deutsche(German) relaxation. Also known as R&R. I really like Bill's VW. Also his initials backwards. William Vilneff or WV's VW. He did it his way and it works. I by the way am no fan whatsoever of diesels. (Stinken und Klinken).
