This yr I decided to drive the Pontiac torpedo back down for the annual Doo Wop show in Charleston, no TRAILER QUEEN this year, filled up in Bowmanville & made it to just inside the PA state line on 1st tank, worked out to 24.5 MPG on US Gal [ cdn non ethanol gas] but dropped down to just under 20 on US "crap' fuel 2nd fill up!!!  Still not bad for a healthy SBC with 2x4's & stiff Camshaft etc & tremec 5 spd helps!  650 miles on 2 1/2 tanks of fuel [14gal tank]  Hit 2 BIG bumps on 401 near Ajax & thought I'd "busted" a rear sprg.as it bottomed out twice, checked it out later & seems that the car just had too much in the trunk & back seat!!! Show starts Wed. night & goes to Sun. expecting close to a 1000 cars on the Blvd. by the river   Pete

You could stop in at Carlisle this week and Hershey next week if you had time. They are only 35 miles apart.

Was scratching my head in "wonder" when a 70/72 Monte Carlo "rag top" drove by coming into show??? Talked to owner & found out it started as a Le Mans "Rag" & made a 1 of 1 Monte rag top, work was "perfect" full blown custom with 59 chevy digital dash, & custom interior etc. hope my pictures will post when I get back. Weather has been the "$hits" cold & heavy rain, but had around 600 cars on Thurs, but many have left by Fri. night, awards on Sun, weather clearing on Mon. for my 630 mi. drive back home!!!

There was one kicking around Cobourg a few years ago. it was black. It was only around for the one summer
