Interesting stuff there. Kinda reminds me of the Mazda rotary engine. To which the same problems are to over come, emissions and oil sealing.

Was thinking the same thing as Petebil. Looks like a sanden swash plate compressor.
Except the sanden pistons are fixed (move up and down but don't rotate around the axis)
Interesting idea.

Looks very inefficient mechanically. Current piston engines are in the high twenties percent mechanical efficiency, and don't have that wield knuckle thing to transfer power through, or spin the entire assembly while the pistons go up and down.

Wankles are actually pretty efficient, but have the emissions issues of high surface area, and poor burn dynamics due to the spinning doritio upsetting the flame front. They breath well though. That motor seems to take the worst of both designs and puts them together....
