There's a guy on a Ford website mentioning a Barry Poole Ford Thunderbolt (64  Fairlane )  ......I thought , perhaps wrongly , that Poole got on the scene in the later 60's with Sandy Elliott and the various successful cars , Comet , Mustang , etc . Can anyone shed some light ?

Poole and Atkin ( sp on the last name ???) This car was run long after the Sandy Elliott cars. I can try to find out if it was a real T-bolt.

Barry Poole and Dan Atkin (think that's right spelling) ran the car at Sparta during the late 70's and early 80's. Car is now in Texas I have been told.

It was sold to a major Ford collector in Texas[?] or Oklahoma [?] and has been sold several times since. Last time I saw it was about 8 yrs ago racing in Bakersfield Calif.Still black but with the lettering removed except for the 'Sandy Elliot ' sticker on the trunk lid. Ran well but I don't know what or who's motor was in it.

You guys probably know about this Thunderbolt site but in case not I thought I would post the link for it.

Interesting that the "cover" car for the site is Michigan's Don Leddy's Flying Farmer. I recall this car from St. Thomas when I was a kid except that I could have sworn it was white at the time. Memory. Getting old.
