vapour canister connections

Picked up a used canister from a 92 Ford truck.

It only has 2 connections, one to the top of the tank, and the other to the throttle body on the fuel injected motor.

Since ford used that same canister for many years, including carburetted vehicles, I figure it should work on my carburetted hot rod. But where do I connect the that hose? Does it go to the ported vacuum on the carb, or to the pcv valve where there is a 2nd port on top, or elsewhere?

My rod is a 47 Merc truck with a 4bbl carbed 302, and a newer style tank with the vent connection on top.

Thanks for the advice.
