I thought I'd start my own topic on the car. Now, remember, I've had this thing for 40 years and then some.

Finding this site by mistake, and reading about what you guys have done/doing kinda lit my fire to get off the couch.

Other than the Sunshine through the shop windows. it hasn't seen daylight for almost 20 years or so. Even then it was covered up, but lets not go there just yet.

Yes, I have the '73 roadster Vette on the old side and I'd sell it in heartbeat, but everybody wants me to pay them it seems. I don't care, it can sit over there for another 20 years.

Anyway, some buddies were here a few years ago and figured we should prolly take the beer cases back because there was some time limit on the stubby bottles. Well after we filled all the trucks and trailers, we found a car I forgot I hadbiggrin

Ya ya. It doesn't need much really. I have some pics, but I have to figure out how to attach them here for your viewing pleasure and have a good reason to call me names etc.

I have started to out it back together. The T10 is much heavier than I remember, well, so were the bolts. I had sent the Heads back out to get a pamper and ended up replacing all the valves. The heads are MDDogleg and I had Aitch in London hog 'em out to run (ya hemi) 440 Chysler so I really didn't want to go backwards after the porting/polishing/cc'ing etc.

As with any AMC, the rear suspention is just nasty. I have helpers helping helpers that help helpers back there now. The stuff I broke because of that is incredible.

Right now, I just wanna put it back together. It used to be real purty (engine painted  etc), but right now purdy is last of my concerns. If it stays together, then I'll deal with it.

Once I have it fired up, the rear end comes out. That Spring Rats nest is history. That's where I'll get the pics going for ya, when I figure out how to.

I have much stuff to do and I might need some of you guys services to get it done. I'm sure I hear the old girl saying track track get me outta here, every damn time I look at her.

That is all, carry on.

You can attach image from your computer by clicking on the box at the bottom of the reply section ... then click insert.... Or from the web by clicking the picture of the tree in the header bar copy and past URL

hit return to start a new sentence first or the words and pictures get mixed up like thisscanimage44.jpg

Thanks slim. I give it a whirl. Right now I'm about to chew on a baked chicken, taters and veggies. Carl could have had some, like the steak a week ago, but he likes the couch too much I guess.

What model/year is your AMC?

I'm assuming your "everybody wants me to pay them it seems" means the offers have been too low ..... if you're willing to "sell it in a heartbeat" what offer would buy it?

The AMC is a 1969 Javelin BBG. I bought it when I was 14'ish. It was my avatar, I'll change that pic back. (actually a 68 1/2 if ya wanna get techincal)

The Vette question, I'll leave alone for now, but I will post a pic of it from the last time it saw sun. The last time it was outside was for the Mobile Undercoating dudes from Seaforth I think.

They were awesome BTW. Nice setup they have/had. Didn't miss a thing.

I wish I could remember who they were. A couple or few brothers ? Maybe Carl would know ?

I've had some Hydro issues here last couple days. Dunno what's up, but smoked a couple TV's, Computer, both Routers refuse to route etc.

I didn't mean to leave you hanging.

BBG mean Big Bad Green?  I was not aware Javelins came in Big Bad colours, thought just the AMX's.

Well a quick and easy Google search shows they did smile

Yup. It's been painted once since original and I have the 'Polaroids' of it in my Dad's (rip) driveway when I bought it a couple years old, with the stripes still on it and stuff.

Wish I knew then, what I know now, but hey, I still have her. Yes she has a name. Don't all of us have our cars named ? Hmm, there's whole different topic. Car names and why ?

Thought I'd throw this in, that I made (yes, I'm an awesome cook), Lasagna. Old recipe handed down and I have it mastered.

Carl could have confirmed this, if he had got off the couch.  It'll be history very soon when the MW does that BEEP thing.

 I googled it too..

The colour makes me think of MOPAR. Was AMC part of MOPAR back then?

Sorry not trying to derail the thread.

Nope, never named any of my cars.  All the cars I've ever owned came with a nameplate right from the factory, that was good enough for me smile

Ho Ho Ho guys.

I'm just looking ahead. I ripped out everything parking brake related decades ago.
I have a new cable for the Pedal, other than that I have nothing.

It's a narrowed 9" ford out back from a '70 Cyclone, so I'll need everything to do with the drums part of it.

Anybody ripping a 9" apart pls think of me. Guts, cables and stuff ?

Thanks

(what's with all the blank space?)

Carl was simply showing the activity between my ears (blank space) when I had it painted Hunter Green Metallic 35 years ago or so. cry

In my defence, I painted the Vette black cause it was also a horrid colour avec murals ! (not kidding)

I really need to get my scanner going. When you see the Vette as I bought it, make sure you have a barf bag handy and don't have a mouthful of anything to spit on your keyboard. You've been warned.

I saw that.  Found out about the cancer and died two days later ..... WOW.

Guess that's better than getting progressively worse and suffering every day, to the bitter end.

newroof.jpgbackyard 164.jpgHere's the new part of the Shop sporting a new roof. Had 3 huge skylights in it on the East end
when I built it.
I'll put it this way guys. Windows are for walls, not a roof. Nuff said.

Trying a jpeg to jpg convert here from the stick.

Pics look huge and poster size on my end. Am I doing this wrong ?

OK then, thanks Marten, so far so good. I only have so many pics on the flash from my old drive, but I know there's a whack to bore you guys to death with.

I figured I should start with the cars house first, and then move along. (Vette is on the other side in the old part)

New part has the pit, wired up, nice floor and drywalled (not finished, Carl was gonna do that I think, after my TV Tower ?) I forget how we worked that out. Anyway, I'll try to post the pics I have available right now so you guys can have a good laugh ok ?

Keep in mind how many beer cases we removed to even find the car, before it went outside for the first time in almost 20 years to get a bath. There was snow on the ground. That's when I hucked the racks in on the east wall.

I have these pics, so be patient.
