Grisdale Racing just above Dundas is a good race car supplier. I had a new power steering hose made up by T T Liquid at 680 Tradewind Dr Ancaster (905) 529-3861. Maybe call first and see if they can do what you need.

They must have dots on them "DOT" Braided lines might be more of a "look at me". Get out the camera and printer and do not make your own cert stickers

Wow ..... I ran aftermarket steel braided flex lines on the front of my last car (Mustang II susp with GM brakes)..... never even crossed my mind.
I guess it actually makes a bit of sense though, when you think about it ...... with no certification needed, those braided steel lines could have been assembled by some kid in China using a converted pair of (Chinese knock-off) Vice Grips for the crimp.
Not only do they need to be DOT approved the shop that makes them need to be certified and have the appropriate insurance coverage. Same as NG or propane . This is why you will find that few shops will even bother to make them. Its the same deal that people kick around the word A N fittings when Most of the time they are just cheap industrial Jic fittings That should never be used on a brake circuit.
Having DOT approved lines makes sense, but I've never heard of a car being pulled off the road because of aftermarket non DOT parts. If that was the case, places like Wilwood would be out of business. Most components built by them like calipers, residual valves, etc.. all use 1/8 NPT for their brake fittings and none of their braided lines are stamped DOT. The only place I know where to get aftermarket DOT braided lines is bike shops, but they have #3AN/JIC ends that would have to be adapted using non DOT approved fittings.
I would rather have non DOT braided flex lines on my car than the Chinese crap rubber approved lines available from the jobber any day.

Real AN fittings will pass dot inspection. Each fitting will be marked AN or MS and carry the manufactures name or logo with the exception of sleeves that only need to carry the logo. The sleeve isn't that critical as the 40% increase in strength comes from the J design tread and the 3B fit. To be honest 99% of the failures with a single flair will be at the flared tube end Ive yet to see a flaring tool priced under 300 that produces consistent quality flairs . Single or double. Using stainless only increases the chance of failure.
My buddy with his 11 sec daily driver was stopped (McCreary super soft fatties on the rear) on a regular basis for something. The rollcage also caught the eye of the cops.
One night the frsh outta preschool cop was gonna be a big guy in front of all the the crowd and decided it was DOT tire night. We all passed until he got to the 11 sec guy, cop said" I don't see DOT on your back tires" My friend says"it's on the inside" well, he tried to fit under the car and dropped his flash light too many times and it went out. He said after some taunting from the crowd, "oh ya I see it now, DOT for highway use", then my friend pointed out the front were the same and showed the DOT so he said OK.
(the rears were marked "Not for highway use")LOL
