The Holden is right hand drive . You can see the brake master on the right and just make out the top of the wheel . Like all Ladas it would have about 5000 miles before the speedo cable snapped because of the backfire every time you shift gears.
When I was at the Ford dealer in Windsor about 10 years ago , one of our contacts was a local collector and appraiser of interesting older vehicles . He had bought a Holden , about a 2003-4 possibly , that was supercharged and had supposedly been owned by Bob Lutz of GM . Of course , RHD , and was a real hot rod for a 4-door sedan . He let me drive it and I couldn't believe how disoriented I was , especially backing up . I went about 1 block and packed it it ,not wanting to possibly damage his car . About a week later , a smart-assed relative of the dealer principle came in , took the same car out with his buddies on board , let her go and managed to put it on top of a cement median , wrecking some of the undercarriage ......cost a lot of $$$$ to fix and the whole matter was hushed up after that .
