I only want to walk the field. There will be no bidding. Just want to look around and get a feel of the event.

Prices for the 1st. night weren't "LOW" !!!! seemed to be averaging in the $40G's & up with a few in the 20G range!! Crazy for the opening, I thought there'd be cars that would be in the range for the 1st. time buyer to get in the "hobby" Even at the high $30's to $40's they were calling them "driver" condition vehicles???

Yes we did.  Sure glad I didn't have the 5th wheel hooked on.  What an awesome drive.  Went up to Sedona and Jerome on Wednesday.  Another amazing drive.

Went to Barrett-Jackson today   About 4 hours of walking saw it all.  Didn't buy anything.  Admission was $45.00, parking $30.00. Pretzel $5.00 and the experience priceless.  Remind me never to go back.  Too many LS powered vehicles and late model mustangs.  I watched the auction for a short while and 4 1933-34 roadsters went over the stage.  Did see some interesting stuff scattered amidst and will post pictures when I get a better Wi-Fi.

Beer time

the first V8 Corvette, but there were at least a dozen of this vintage.  ho hum

I would look so good driving this Packard

Is this your father's car? I'd say he had good taste.

Henry's display model.  Good starting point.

61 300.  I always thought this was one of the most beautiful luxury cars made especially with the long horns.

DSC03953.JPG

Is that 7UP on the floor?

DSC03957.JPG

Just god damned beautiful!

DSC03973.JPG

The first car that ever caught my eye was a 1956 Custom Royal Lancer new in 56.  I will always be thankful to Chrysler for turning me onto cars.  And I love wagons.

DSC03958.JPG

The obligatory Chevy, but not a bad way to go.  Saw Hayden Profitt beat the Ramchargers in 62 at the Nationals in one of these to win SS.  Last time for a 4 speed.

What one needs to get around Arizona.

For my buddy Dave, but I bet he paid a lot less.

DSC03978.JPG

I think I see Glenn's hand in here somewhere.

DSC03972.JPG

For Gary.  Those bat wings just keep popping up.  I think the only option with this car was the Impala script and the third tail light.

DSC03979.JPG

Something for the Ford guys.  I saw about 5 or 6 of these R cars, even a square back,  Not a 406 in the crowd.

This one is for Parklane.  It would look awesome towing my Bantam Altered.

I'd take this Bantam from the cowl back.  This is what we are building it with

Wow there sure seam to be a lot of Vets and Mustangs going thru . No real rarity there so I can't figure out the high prices. then there is the $200.000 rod builds with test miles only and amazingly enough every car thru is a multiple award winner. You have to love the American love of hype and B.S.and evidently heavy drinking. But then there I was watching it, gawd I have to get a life in the winter. Think I'll get back into building the 1/25 scale plastic ones till spring. Ed

Speaking of hype and b.s. ....there was Burt Reynolds in the Smokey and the Bandit Trans AM .....should have been called the " Death Warmed Over Edition " judging by the way he looks these days .

BJ is in it for the dollar like in the high end original cars you do not see any As or Ts either. Too low of a value when they can sell a Vet or Camaro in the same time frame with a higher commission dollar return.

Thanks wuga for posting the shots.

Well Glenn......We did the Casa Grande, Yuma, Lake Havasu, Oatman, Flagstaff, Winslow, Sedona and Phoenix route just as you suggested. Overwhelming! thanks again Glenn. When we were going to Lake Havasu, we passed by Parker. There were a million people parked in the dessert with their RVs. Apparently this happens on that particular weekend each year. Thousands of acres of RVs as far as you could see. We left the Phoenix area Saturday and drove to Las Cruces and are now in Roswell. Doing the tour in the morning. Funny thing, haven't seen any special interest cars on the street. Lots of old but picked junk in the yards. Went to Dessert Valley wreckers and walked the yard. Almost all gone. Don, went to Patrick's with a big list, nothing in stock. Weird family. Off to south Texas on Tuesday.

I used to have one of those SCOUT'S with a 6 foot full hydraulic plow and a slant four.

In four wheel drive and in reverse you had to let the clutch out slowly or it would lift the rear wheels a foot off the ground.
