second race and I m already near the bottom lolllllllllllllllllll but the 18 is already first and I got one driver already lock in the chase hahaha I ll be back in the top before it s over
I'm not a blue oval fan but sure glad to see him (and 2 others) go by the Toyota at the end of this one. And wouldn't you know it, the first place team has no Toyotas on it. My week to brag but it will change in a hurry.......lol
Yes Matt and Carl are likeable guys. I always liked the way Martin Truex ran also but I guess I'm such a redneck can't get used to a team other than the big 3 in racing.. just not a fan of rice burners but they do seem to have a bottomless money pit to put into racing.
I didn't even watch the race , and that used to be the one track I would gladly drive 12 hours to see and stay in a motel 50 miles away ...if you could get one . Now ...empty seats .
If Allgaier isn't with one of the "Charter Cars " ( new for this year ) then you are screwed unless he substitutes as a driver for one of those cars . I also mentioned early on that Stewart wouldn't be running much , if at all , because of an off season back injury and I see you chose him ! Not anything you can fix , now .

Know what your saying. Camped across the street and I think our seats were like row 88... what a hike but lucky to get tickets. Surprising what difference a few years makes. Don't have time to even watch it on TV any more.
Another exciting "Plate Race". I wonder if Nascar awards "Air Miles"? At the rate it's going the drivers will have to have a Nascar licence AND a Pilots licence.
Are we still doing it that way this year ....maybe I misunderstood but I thought we were getting rid of that chase bonus deal that eliminates half the guys in the pool ?

Well....nobody really got back to me with an opinion on how we should do it. I am not sure if I can get the week by week points for the non chase points....will have to see this year when the chase starts.....
This year, we will do the chase thing....at the end of the season, I will poll the group on what to do next year. if I can get the points...Hows that sound?
you can t compare the old way cause if it was .........every driver would be racing the old way and try to protect there points like it use to be they wouldn t go for the win every single race that s the purpose of the chase so guys don t just drive around just to protect points , and now after they win they don t even have to protect points cause it don t even matter at the end
like to day Kevin Harvick didn t even had to push the limit if it was the old way he could just start protecting is point to stay first place it s a complete different way of racing
I thought there was a pretty good discussion regarding the chase in our 2015 thread but not an official vote. Maybe part of next years picks, the last item could be a vote for a chase or no chase points standings. I still say you earn it by consistency over the whole year. And, after a caution, the lead car goes to the front by itself and all the other cars line up two by two behind. He has earned that spot. And another flight of fancy, everybody should be driving big block 1962 Chevs, Pontiacs, Mercurys, Fords, Dodges and Plymouths. I really don't care what brand or driver wins, just give me a little pushing and banging and keep those major crashes coming, sorta like the Jays this afternoon. And what is with the invocation and all the BS flybys etc.
At the end of last season Poncho said " what do you think if we use the non-chase points next year " ? ( now ) .....and I thought that's where we were going . In a pool , the goofy chase system eliminates a lot of guys from the fun of getting in the pool in the first place .
Tell you what.....When the chase starts this year, I will attempt to put up both sets of scores and see how hard it is to do..........after all, this is just for fun, not for money.....then we can have 2 winners....doesnt look like I will be either of them.....lol
Hey guys, remember that Poncho is doing this for free and I'm sure it is a lot of work. I'm all for having the "dual" scores at the end IF he can get the points easily and without a lot of extra work. Most of us who were in the contest last year knew that our points totals would take a dump when the chase started if we did not have drivers who were in the chase so it was our responsibility to pick the drivers we thought would be most capable of WINNING races (and thus be in the chase) rather than just picking our favourites. I have been lucky so far but I still have one driver who should win. The others would have to be very lucky. I think we all owe Poncho a big thanks for doing this. It's really the only reason I watch any of the NASCAR races as I'm really more of an F1/Indycar fan.
