I was going to update the standings if the chase was not in effect, but it seems that the source I was going to use only updates it at the end of the season. I guess we will have to wait until then to see who would have won that way....sorry
On to the next round......Elliot, Dillon, Truex and Keselowski get the boot.....Damned if I know why the ones that drop get put back into the 2000 range...I would think they should stay at 3000....shakes up our standings though

Does seem kind of ridiculous but it has probably helped me. Seeing Truex get knocked out is a surprise as I thought he would be the one that would go all the way considering how he has run lately. Cousin Brian (Joking) even picked up some points with his second place.
It would be interesting what the results would be if Poncho could get stats that don't have the weird chase points. Poncho, you mentioned that this might be possible. Is it still?
Not that I'm minding the way these have gone so far.

At the end of the season last year, they showed it....Will see if its there this year.
Does this mean that if Carl wins next weekend I would win the pool. That would be great since I spent the season in the cellar.
Go Carl, guess I better watch the race next Sunday.

Damned if I know.....This scoring system is so weird, I think the Donald might win it.............Anyways, heres the points going into the last race next week.
Kenseth's accident put me out the running I'm afraid. I now think that 2nd is the best I could do as TC has the same chase runners as I do but a higher base point level so if one of our 3 win he will likely end up first. If Edwards wins, then Marten has a good shot.
Oh well, it was a nice run while it lasted. Certainly better than last year.

If NASCAR didnt use the Chase system, here are how they would have ended up
1) #4-Kevin Harvick(C8), 1159
2) #22-Joey Logano(C2), 1133, -26
3) #18-Kyle Busch(C3), 1105, -54
4) #2-Brad Keselowski(C12), 1089, -70
5) #11-Denny Hamlin(C6), 1084, -75
6) #41-Kurt Busch(C7), 1055, -104
7) #48-Jimmie Johnson(CHAMP), 1007, -152
8) #19-Carl Edwards(C4), 1005, -154
9) #20-Matt Kenseth(C5), 997, -162
10) #78-Martin Truex Jr.(C11), 991, -168
11) #24-Chase Elliott#(C10), 966, -193
12) #42-Kyle Larson(C9), 931, -228
13) #1-Jamie McMurray(C13), 907, -252
14) #3-Austin Dillon(C14), 902, -257
15) #5-Kasey Kahne, 898, -261
16) #31-Ryan Newman, 895, -264
17) #47-AJ Allmendinger, 830, -329
18) #21-Ryan Blaney#, 812, -347
19) #17-Ricky Stenhouse Jr., 772, -387
20) #6-Trevor Bayne, 762, -397
21) #16-Greg Biffle, 691, -468
22) #10-Danica Patrick, 689, -470
23) #27-Paul Menard, 678, -481
24) #14-Tony Stewart(C15), 642, -517
and heres how we would have ended up in our pool.....Notice how the winner TC would still be the winner....and M Scott, still 2nd....some of the other positions are really different though.
I'll throw in my 2 pesos worth .....I'm in another pool that has always been the same points count throughout the 36 races ....no Chase system . We can make a limited number of trades throughout the first 18 races to try to guard against unforeseen situations such as the issues with Junior or Stewart ....
I can understand the points system more easily this way . When the Chase get's underway , it's just a crap shoot . I'm sure others like it but I'm not a fan .
