The main bearings on my Gen1 5.7L SBC are stamped with .0006. What does that mean?

factory under sized crank was used...Bearing was over sized by .0006. for proper oil clearance

as a follow up. I found that bearings 2,3,4 where marked .0006 but 1 and 5 where not.

This is common practice for mass produced engines. The same process is used for piston to bore sizes. This allows the manufacturer to be a bit sloppy on their machining tolerances , but retain proper oil clearances.
