I am in Maine right now, heading to Fredericton today and then onto Moncton. No car, just the 5th wheel so we are camping in Shediac for 6 days and then on to Newfoundland. Have never been to the big show so really looking forward to this.
Well, it's Saturday night and I spent the day at Centennial Park. Several thousand cars and tens of thousands of spectators. The weather hasn't co-operated very much, Gary Steeve's cruise in on Thursday was washed out, part of the Friday street show was damp and cold and today was cloudy and chilly. It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow, quite a turn around from last years blistering hot days. I'm not much for taking photos but her are a few of my favorite things.
Did I ever mention that there are only two things I am adamant about, wagons and 62 Dodges. This is a marriage made in heaven.
These transplanted Ontarians are having a ball with these bangers living down here.
Thought this was one of the nicest pickups out of about 1000 here.
Camped with this couple from Maine. He is an old circle track racer, Some of you may remember his daughter who drove their car until 2008, Carey Heath. First woman driver in NASCAR.
He tells me that in Maine, never a safety or inspection on hot rods, even when first built or when plating. You don't even have to affix plates to the car, just have them.
This car is minimal, but well built with a bunch of unique pieces. That is not the issued plate.
Off to PEI tomorrow and look who came to say good-bye
