I installed a set of Lokars 1955-57 clutch brake pedal arms a few weeks ago, must say I am very pleased. The installation went well except for their instructions dealing with the brake pedal installation. They wanted to have the pedal and return spring installed while the clutch brake housing was still in the car, after about 45 minutes of frustration I took the housing out and had the pedal and spring in with no effort. The clutch arm and pivot are fully splined giving a firm fit.I had a near accident a few years ago when the clutch spline let go and the car took off under its own power. The new unit I put in at that time was very poorly manufactured, when Lokar came out with this relatively new product I wasted no time in buying it.I have talked to other owners that have had clutch linkage failure, one guy told me that he arc welded the clutch arm to the pedal shaft to be sure it would not strip. The only drawback I can see is that the pedals do not look like stock ,they look better to me but to some purists this might be an issue.I told a supplier that the clutch pedal and arms he was selling are a safety hazard,if I were him I would only sell these Lokar units.'
