The car is straight and in great condition, easily restorable...

But heres the problem...I WANT A FASTBACK!!!

Found a doner roof and gonna start the chop soon...any suggestions, advice????

Done a few ....Do not cut the windshield posts.

The windshield is the same>Drill the roof skin off in one peice or carefully remove by cutting with air chisel or cut off wheels.

Drill off the 1/4 panels from coupe...then drill roof structure off just behind the windshield roof line at top [you will see what i'm say 'n once you get in there. an set your fast back roof on..

Order a pair of 1/4 panels...they're nice but not correct at the lower part by the door.easy fix or leave.

These cars are one of the easy-est too build.....fun too....

I knew you would get on here and get an answer Owie.  These guys have seen it all and done it all. Look at some of Ground Pounder's posts.  You will see a couple that look like he has removed every factory spot weld.  Better yet, it sounds like he has done your conversion in the past.  Wealth of knowledge there....................................................................  Rhys.

Thank you for the kind words.

To make it easy

Once drilled every single weld outta a 4 door dart....Then gave half the drilled car away.

Ok maybe done a few over the years....lol.

You can also ...once the roof is mocked up..
If it still retains the 1/4 panel sails from being cut off the old fast back...
At the top of 1/4 panel body lines on the coupe ..
Cut with an air saw an butt weld or over lap depending on you're skill level.
Thus saving the time that it would take to drill the coupe 1/4's off
An saving them rather then spending the extra dough for after market full 1/4 's

a lot of work just to change the body style and then look like everyone else's mustang

3500 for a decient coupe ? I'd have to say you're off to a great start already and it might be worth considering how very nice a coupe looks when make into a trans am style road race car

yes , fender flares and all...

just a thought

type road race mustang coups into your search box , hit enter , click on images
