Got a t5 for the 56 Chev, putting Muncie up for sale, lots of miles but still shifts and runs well,I checked the numbers a few years ago, came from mid 60's Chevelle.Has a Hurst shifter specificaly for tri 5 Chevy, figure the shifter is worth $ 150. How much for the trans, still in the car, could take potential buyer out for test run.

Beyond the model numbers M20, 21 and 22 the casting number changed over time. Which means there were changes in the trans. I.E. in '66 the main shaft size was increased. These casting numbers denote different year ranges. So stating that it is a mid '60s doesn't really tell a potential buyer much about what you have. Further information can be revealed by the stamped in numbers. One of which will start with the letter P ot T. All of this can affect it's value for some.

You state you "checked the numbers". Help us out by stating those as well. The more information you supply the more accurate the response.

Of note the number of grooves around the input shaft can be a hazardous thing to go by.

Also there is a What is it Worth category for these questions   http://www.ontariorodders.activeboard.com/f552745/what-is-it-worth/
