Sold my 62 impala last year for $22,000.

Amazing how it changes in a year. Now it is an original 409 car. ( I put the 409 in) Fully documented. I gave him a bunch of paper work/ receipts of info on the engine build.

If you had only known how really rare your car was, eh Brian.......

Gonna call him out on it, or is it worth your while?

So you're gonna buy that car back then Brian ? Ha !

This reminds me of my High School days. I had the old '69 Z and the Javelin (which I still have), God I'm getting old. Anyway, one dude had a '68 Chevelle, nothing special back then, think it had a 307 (?) or some such. Somehow through the Summer, this car transformed into a SS Chevelle. Dude even put some chrome valve covers and Cragers on 'er.

I saw the car at a Body Shop my truck was at prolly 15 years ago. ( I knew because of the paint color and vinyl roof even 38 years later)

The Body Shop owner bought the car. When I asked if he bought it from ************, he said ya, all excited that he scored an original SS.

I kinda burst his bubble when I told him. Granted, the car was still in awesome shape, but still....

Don't the VIN numbers say it all ? Am I missing something here ?

vin numbers do not always tell the tale unfortunately
Chevelles in particular from 69-71 did not indicate on the vin like previous models did

That's sad.

These days, don't you have to buy a 'used car package' that has the Cars previous owners etc ?

I reckon the first guy on that list will tell ya if he ordered an SS or RS Camero or an SST Supernash etc etc, or not.

I'm thinking now I can't sell my 1973 Stingray Roadster, with the original 350/4 speed, and flip in the 454 I've had stashed for decades to Carl and tell him it 's all original ? Damn.

Brian, was that car all rotted out and needed fixing ? (ha kidding)

I'd be more than happy to play with that guy.

someone needs to place an add right along with that using the same pics stating in nice big bold letters
THAT's NOT AN O-E 409 CAR

but yeah I feel your frustration a little
gave my coronet to a buddy with the understanding he was free to make something of it but if he just turned around and sold it I get something back out of it

wadda I get
nuttin.. yet

even will happen though

send that to the seller. If it's the same guy that bought it from me he is a toronto firefighter Paul Mitchell.

Car came from the south. Gentleman named Gordon Pogue off scugog island had the car done. I bought it with a 348 which they thought was a 409 in it. Car was a 327 car before.

Sometimes it's hard to see this and stand by doing nothing knowing the next guy will be cheated but i'm a firm believer in karma! When the oil patch started to fall I sold my trucks at the richie bros auction in edmonton,lo and behold I'm surfing the net a week later and run across one of them for sale in BC on kijiji with almost 100k kms less milage so I couldn't resist a reply of "it sure has lost a lot of kms since it left the auction" I never received a reply and I check the next day and the add was gone! Karma has a way of fixing things.

Well go nutz ...Hear say is not admissible

So the guy that sold car should step up....

Or is it buyer beware ...ignorance of the law is no excuse for the law??

Personally i do not care, however i did rock the boat by sending a reply 2 addno

Gives new meaning to "do your research before buying"! Sad how some will lie and cheat.

A few years ago I was in North Carolina looking at some old cars.
The owner of the place and I got talking and he asked where I was from.
I told him, British Columbia on the west coast of Canada.
He said he knew where it was as a lot of the cars he was selling were from Saskatchewan.
He told me he has sold a lot of old cars to people from Ontario.
You never know...eh?
