Our Wednesday night get together made the most of the great weather as about 50 rides showed up . No need for A/C on this night , guys and ladies were in a good mood . The " usual suspects arrived plus a few I haven't seen before .

This very nice 55 F100 with 272 Y-block , automatic , power brakes , Ford 9" and lipstick red interior caught my attention ........seem to be a lot of 56's around but not many 55's .

Next was a 39 with sbc and turbo 350 ....guy has had it for many years and might be for sale as he wants to concentrate on two other cars in the stable

Not sure if this was a 30 Model A roadster but in that vicinity .

Finally this old timey 34 Coupe with a nailhead for power !

It almost looks like one of those "Shay" model A Fords.

Wierd cowl lights, etc.

Was it Pinto powered?

I couldn't find the guy , Jarvis , and I would never touch someones car without permission .....never heard of the " Shay " , except the Shay steam locomotive .

I think you are right it may be a Shay. They are now considered collectable like the Avanti 11.

No they are classed as factory made by one company. But to me they are a kit car like you say.

A real Model A owner wouldn't put an ariel on the cowl.
Note how the hood slopes up to the rad.
Looking real close at those wheels. They are not Model A
and they look like 4 bolt pattern.

I would think its a shay the guy that sells the tin ceiling tiles had one like that. . Along with the roadster ford also offered the Cabriolet  a totally different animal .

This one is a 1931 and nice to have the roll up windows this time of year. Put in a Columbia rear end, overhead valves, down draft carb, upgrade the distributer, switch to an alternator and you are off to the races. You see a lot of speedster's in the US made out of these.

We had a turnout of about 25 cars and trucks tonight . The first one I hadn't seen in a while was a 33 Ford , steel body , glass fenders , 406 sbc ......owner has had the car 30 years and is going to do a repaint ( same colour ) and alter the graphics this winter . Rod sounded pretty good .

The second car , a 68 Mustang GT showed up near closing and it took a while to find the owner as he ducked into a restaurant . Since I had a new Mustang GT in yellow / black C stripe , black interior , and I have seen virtually none like that over the years , I thought it might happen to be my old car . Nope ...originally an S -code ( 390 ) , whereas mine was a 302 small block .

hey.....thats my Barracuda in the back ground of the 2nd Mustang pic.

A bunch of us are meeting at the Manning Rd. location Sunday Oct. 23 @ 1100 a.m.

heading out on our 2 nd annual yearly  cruise. Had 25-30 cars last year.

Cruise is about 3 hours long. All are welcome.

Depending on weather we will stretch these Wednesday night gatherings out as

long as we can. One of the joys of living in the Canadian tropics.

Hope to meet up with you one day Teejay.

Bob

Yes it is........ thanks.

About the Mustang.....some of our gang with the better memories recalled

there being a Parkview Ford (later Moe Campbell Mercury) in late '60's.

None could recall a car that this one might tribute.

Will have to find the owner.

I did talk to the owner at length and it seems the Mustang had a hard life ....guy bought it " very used " in 1974 , lots of bondo hiding the rust , 390 had blown and car had a SBF with a 3 speed ! .....I think it's back to a big block now possibly a 429 . I didn't ask about the Parkway connection if it was real or a clone or whatever . Car was originally gold , then painted green when the current owner bought it .....he had the yellow paint done .

My original car in my "yoot "

Nice......wish we could have kept them all!!!!

Just back back from our cruise. Started out with about 15 picking up others as we
went along. By the halfway rest stop the count was 35 from all over Essex County.

A great day.
