When my car was rear-ended they also did the repair through the insurance company. For a business that services a limited specialty market to still be here for over 50 years they have to be doing things right or they would have folded years ago. A friend had a small main seal leak repaired there and it stared again 4 months later so they fixed it again no problem.

Why would you take a rear end repair to a restoration shop? Take it to a shop that specializes in that type of work. I've deal with Driveline in Pickering and Oshawa as well as Otis gear. All good shops with a good reputation.
People keep referring to Fawcett as a restoration shop what is only part of their business. They also do everything from pouring babett main bearings to brakes and selling cars. I am not saying these shops are not good but I go to where I know who has done this kind of work before. I would have had the gears cut at Oshawa gear but they were considerably more.
