I know you said project but on Craigslist , Detroit area there is a decent looking one for more money than you probably want to spend but if you figure in the cost of refurbishing a project , this might be an alternative ....maybe not !
That's a good looking car, and you can't build one for anywhere close to that price. Only thing I see is some wiring in the engine compartment that's cobbled up. Hopefully it isn't a bondo bucket.

I inquired about it.. the fella says the car has had a very hard life and the pictures arent telling the whole truth.. the guy was honest and up front about it.. the car need the bottom 6" all the way around because its been mudded up numorous times... thanks for keeping your eyes peeled though
The car has been for sale for several months ......maybe make him a stupid offer and see what happens .........don't know what you are planning to spend but a project is going to cost you anyhow .
You could put another 12K into this car and still be below the going prices for 1957 Fairlanes. Also, you never said if you wanted a hardtop or a post. Even at that, they are still in the upper twenties to mid eighties if you want something nice and still no guarantee. This car has become one of the most sought after out there.
I am on it... car will be a full tube chassis.. all smooth floors etc. Wide whites lowered and a 312 with a 3 deuce set up. So as ou can see i dont need a mint one.. much prefer a hard top but would settle for a post car
HI CHAD :: You might want to contact JEFF NORWELL ( Orangeville ) > He owns one ( or more ) and my theory is " If you are looking for one , ask someone who already has one !! --- They often have lots of info -- Hope this helps -- LATER -- DON / FLEET 51
Will get some pics as soon as it gets home. Its a Kansas car that needs to be restored but super solid for a 50's car... the 35 cab is from Kansas also.. got a steal of a deal on the pair
