Well it took about 8 months but I finally am able to see the specialist in early January and I'm expecting the procedure for replacing a bum knee to take place shortly thereafter .
Any word of wisdom from those who have had this done already ?
HAHAHAHA For your sake I hope I'm wrong BUT I would be very surprised if it " take place shortly thereafter"
I got the appointment to see mine about a year and a half ago and it will probably another 2 years. I started my quest April 2014 . They told me a 18-24 month wait but I think another 2 years TMJ

My mom had it done before she passed away. She asked if it could be done sooner, they asked do you mind driving out of town. She got in less than 6 months out of town.
Words of advice. When they say walk and it hurts.....walk. Do what they tell you to recover. My mom dragged it out well over 6 months. She had a hard time with the pain. I know a fellow who was up in 2 weeks. Everyone's pain tolerance is different. But if you can get on your feet as soon as possible. Dragging it out will only make you suffer longer.
Get Well.
One of my cousin's had his done a couple years back. He lives just below Indy and went to a ortho clinic down there.
He said when he woke up there was a device attached to his leg that was already moving it through a gentle range of motion. He was out and about in half the time most folks I've spoken with up here are.
Well so much for thinking I'd be in soon after seeing the ortho surgeon today . I go for the op on SEPT 27 !! @$%#!^%$ ........unless someone cancels ( i.e. dies ) . Guess I'll be hobbling around at the cruises this summer .
Well it is not a reply about knees , but, I have been fighting muscle and joint injuries for 31 years. I took 2 to 10 pills a day to keep going. I got brave and went for a ride in an old RCAF Harvard trainer and the sharp quick left turn at the end about killed me. After 2 days I felt great and have not needed pills since. It shook the wrinkles out of me. The human body is a work of art.

Been putting this off for years, started taking Glucosamine with Controydine for knee pain !! after an injury to it. Had it scoped and arthritis set in after that!!! Took over a month before I started noticing a improvement, take it every morning now and only on real cold days do I notice any discomfort!!! Way better now & will put that operation on HOLD!!!!!
