1986 ford f150 steering column help

Hi , bought an 86 ford pickup , when try to start the truck , the ignition is so hard to turn ,almost need pliers to turn it so I can start it .

I 've heard there is a problem with these , suppose to be an actuator in the column that breaks .

Its a tilt column ,anybody ever run across this or changed one ?

Is it a hard job ?

Thanks in advance .

Sorry Kruzr haven't been on this forum much lately so didn't see your post earlier. Hope you solved the problem already but if not I had a similar problem and finally broke the key off when temps dropped into the -30's. On my truck it was the ignition switch located on the lower portion of the steering column had become really stiff.
