yah yah  - I know  - spray chrome never looks like chrome.   biggrin

however - I want to be able to do black chrome on all my trim and bumpers on  my Beaumont as I can not do it in black chrome vinyl as I had originally hoped

Who in Ontario does chrome spray painting and can do black chrome?

Something I could buy and do myself would be even better if you know of a product?

thanks

Do a search with 'Spray Chrome' . There is a thread on the subject with info and contacts. Don't know of any off the shelf products for a do it yourself job. Canadian Tire has a chrome looking paint in different colors. At least the cap looks great....not sure what's in the can. I would bet it's just 'cowboy chrome' silver paint with a colorant in it at best.

I know a guy down here that does the spray chrome thing. I don't know anything about this 'Black' thing. 3 part process or some such.

He's a body guy and has done excellent work for me over the years. Works for UAP/NAPA part time as their paint mixing guy.

I'll PM you his number and info, as well as getting that 9" inch stuff dealt with.

Spray chrome will not last on the outside of a car. It has to have clear coat and that doesn't work either.
It's not chrome.

Done properly spray chrome WILL look as good as real chrome. HOWEVER, keep in mind that the labour is what makes ALL the difference as the surface has to be glass smooth - just as a plater would prep it. This is where most spray chromers fall on their face. Those that do good prep are going to end up costing almost as much as a plater would. But as some have previously said, it just ain't gonna last on bumpers or other exterior parts which are subject to the rigors of the road.

That said, there is EZ Chrome in Delhi and you want to avoid that guy like the friggin plague !! Honestly, a spray bomb and too many coats of silver paint would yield better results !
