Good morning: Well I went to my very first swap meet. Or was it mud wrestling? Hard to tell. A lady I met there told me it was the worst one she had been to in 21 years, referring to the weather. At least I hope that is what she meant. It looked like a lot of vendors didn't come but I managed to acquire about half of what I hoped to find. On the up side, everyone I met was very friendly and helpful. Given all the mud, smiles were a big plus for my day. My hands were numb and it was too muddy to get to some of the vendors who did show up. I understand the Stirling swap meet was cancelled so I cancelled my plan to attend but look forward to trying another some day (if it warms up). I can't imagine the next will be worse.
We went down on Thursday. we got set up, met our neighbors, had a bunch of drinks.... Friday it rained so we didn't uncover our tables.
Saturday turned out to be awesome in my eyes. Although it was muddy we made a killing. We sold a pile of stuff and like I had mentioned in another thread..... I grabbed another site beside us, so next year we will have a 90 foot frontage for our "JUNK".
It's too bad so many vendors backed out.... Don't complain when the rates go up or they just shut down because of the turnouts..... due to the lack of vendors.

Got there Thursday left Fri. at noon to pick up a drill press I bought at an on line auction. Sat. was really good except for the mud. What is the story with Stirling cancelling. Is there a rain date or is the cancellation an elaborate fabrication of someone's imagination????????

Somebody must be feeding somebody a bunch of BS about Stirling canceling!! Daughter/son-in-law went. A friend of theirs was vending there. Weather was not the greatest and yes there was mud.... but it was still open!
