IMG_1177.JPGThe 49 was used as a competition mud bogger mounted on a 1976 Chevy one ton 4x4 with huge lift springs .I had no interest in another 4x4 like that so I sold off the mud bog stuff and got most of my money back ,and now only have the body ,that is pretty descent other than the cab floor .I searched online ,many people use older Dakota frames under them ,or s10's ,but the Canyon trucks are very close in track width ,have a rack behind the front wheels ,and in my case I picked up a 2007 extended cab with a blown engine for $300.00 ,and sold a ton of stuff off of it so I have about $20.00 into the frame with a bunch of things left to sell .I have a 150,00 km 2000 Chevy 2wd truck so it's 4.3 and everything else I can use will end up in the old truck .The 2000 has been my personal daily for the past several years ,I like that truck and would be happy if it works as well in the 49 .I replaced it with a 4x to plow with when I sold my jeep ,or it would still be my daily .Pictures are of the old Ford from when I picked it up last fall ,it's just the body pieces now .I like the beat up ,ratty look ,so I think the body will remain pretty much like it is .I also intend to drive the truck and use it as a truck .

That's awesome. I remember cheering that truck on at the Chemmy Mud Boggs as a kid many years ago. Glad somebody is saving it.

Several people have told me stories about the truck ,the guy I bought it from was trying to open a track in chemmie, but the city wouldn't allow it .I guess he got tired of no place to run the truck so he gave up on it .
