I topped up the rad apparently forgetting that there's no expansion bottle and ran around town for a while. When I shut it off at home the coolant ran out the tube made a small puddle then stopped. Now I'm thinking I should order one of them long shinning tubes to stop this. My question is are they really necessary or has my rad adjusted itself to a level it needs to be at? I ran it a few more times since and this hasn't happen again but I cannot see my coolant level and that bothers me.
I'm sure it's simple to some but hey if I was 100 % percent sure on there purpose I wouldn't ask
You can use anything for a container, so it doesn't need to be one of the fancy ones , if you don't want. Take a hose, and connect it to the overflow line, and run it to the container. If you run it in the top of container, allow it to go inside to near the bottom, so it can suck the coolant back into the rad when it cools down. Rads with overflow cans run a different rad cap from a regular rad.

I put over flow tanks on my stuff . Just pick a spot to hide it . I like to use bottles that have a viewing slot or tube so you don't have to pull the cap off to check the coolant and you can see the level hot cold idling etc

I don't believe so as it holds steady on hwy and comes up in city traffic like it should. It doesn't jump around.
At the show this weekend talked to a few guys that had them and feel that this is the way to go
