Hi, I'm satisfied with the price of the item and I'm really interested in buying it. I would have love to come for the viewing by the weekend but My place is way too far from there in which i am located in Quebec, Granby and am pregnant presently so travelling all that way is a big problem... So i thought of how to make this transaction work between us, which i came to conclusion with my husband to use a courier company to pick up the item from your place but we will send the money to your account first and after you get the money in your account, the pick up company will come to help us carry it. Since i'd not be seeing the item before i purchase it, i would like you to send some recent pictures of its present state to be sure you still have it and its in good condition. If the pictures pleases me, then we can go ahead with the transaction and will send the money to you without delay.... Lest i forget, i would be transferring the funds to you through PayPal. Please reply with your opinion ASAP Thanks. If you are satisfied with this, please get back to me with the following info, so that i can proceed with the payment at once.
Your Full name
New pictures (If the ones on the ad are not new)
Your Paypal email.
Cell phone number

I've personally seen this exact thing a few times. I push it as far as they want, you never know, it may be legit. But...those few times have never been legit. Tell him to send money by PayPal. Check your PayPal account to see if the money was received. All emails that come from PayPal will be recognized and will go straight to your inbox. Most fake emails from not legit PayPal will go to your junk folder. Don't click on any PayPal emails that you receive until you see the money in your PayPal account. If you don't see the money then obviously it's BS.
I've had some very convincing paypal emails come straight in. They have links for paypal but don't use them. Open up a new window and go to paypal thru it. check out your account that way.
This is a scam!!!!! Don't touch it. You send your stuff and then the money disappears as well. Very common. Always bad English often willing to give more money then what you are asking.
I had a similar experience when I was trying to sell some excess furniture I had. 3rd party pickup, PayPal , out of town or country buyer. I sent a message to KIJIJI about it and they said its a scam . If you know the party be cautious, otherwise meet in person and cash deal.
The Scammers are really ruining it for everybody now ...
I can remember finding desperately needed parts through a Hemmings ad about 40 years ago ('39 Nash King Pins / Ball Joints) from an advertiser at the other end of Ontario ...
When I called, he said he thought he had them ... and just to give him my name & address and he would get them out to me ?? I asked him how much it was and where I could send the check and he said he wasn't sure but would look them up in a '58 price list he had and add 15 - 25 percent or something like that and include the bill with the package ??
He put them on a Grey Hound bus, and I received them a couple of days later, priced less than similar parts for a current model year ...
I made sure I got the check in the mail for him that night ... thanking him for helping me out ...
The internet / email / Ebay / Kijiji / E commerce / PayPal with multiple shipping options sure make it easier to buy parts from around the world now, but the spammers ruin it for everybody ...
Now, when I see something on Kijiji a few hours drive away, that I can't get anywhere else, I just have to forget about it, because if I offered to send payment ahead of time if they would mail / UPS / FedEx / Canada Post them to me ... they'd automatically assume it was a scam of some sort ...
While most individuals who use Kijiji have successful experiences, from time to time we do receive reports of people attempting to scam or defraud the community. We have found that one of the best ways to stay safe is to ensure that all transactions take place locally and in-person.
Remember that Kijiji is a local classifieds web site and not all ads are reviewed before going live to site.
Please take the following precautions while using Kijiji:
•When buying or selling, you should meet in-person to thoroughly inspect the product and then exchange funds. Meet in a public place with many people around, such as a coffee shop.
•As a safe alternative to carrying cash, consider paying for your item with PayPal, a reputable company where you can securely link your bank account, your credit cards or your VISA Debit. It’s a quick and easy way to make a payment. Never mail a cheque or wire money to sellers. Services like Amazon Payments, Google Wallet, Android Pay, Canada Post, Western Union or MoneyGram should be avoided. Typically, scammers will use these services and will even falsify documents from a legitimate company. It’s best to avoid them entirely and keep things local!
•PayPal payments made through the Kijiji app may be eligible for PayPal Seller Protection. Kijiji and eBay do not offer any sort of protection programs for Kijiji items. Any emails or web sites that talk about such systems are scams, even if they may have the Kijiji logo. If you receive any emails promoting these services, please forward the message to us.
•Be wary of emails asking you to confirm your account or a password or email address change that was not requested. These are very often phishing emails by scammers trying to gain access to your account. Any emails we send requiring you to log in will bring you directly to our site. The Kijiji sign in page should always show up as being secure in your web browser. Click here to learn more.
•Be aware of common scams. The following are more in depth articles on tips for avoiding scams while checking out the Tickets, Real Estate, Cars and Vehicles, Jobs, Services, and Pets sections. Also here are common Reply Scams that can come in response to your ad or when you reply to an ad.
•Do not give out personal or banking information (e.g. social insurance number, bank account number) over the Internet.
•Inform Kijiji of any attempted fraud or suspicious emails, ads, or other activity by community members. In the case of fraud, file a police report and contact us.
•Use common sense. If something sounds too good to be true- it probably is.

Too many scammers in the world today!..Was getting a divorce a while back and started looked for a home to rent..Found a decent deal and then contacted the "owner"...Told me he couldn't meet me, but would have his assistant open the home for viewing and collect the check!. the "good" deal got a little too good when he told me he was a missionary in Africa and the rent also included electric, cable, gas and trash pickup...RED FLAG! I got to checking on the owner and found out the home was a foreclosure..All these scammer did was to break in and change the locks and act like it was theirs and collect rent money!...Lowlifes!!! It's truly amazing the amount of scams that are going on!
Buyer/Seller beware. That simple. I don't trust anyone until I have cash in my hand.
Does this Pete Moss work for Keejeegee, Gm, Ford and (yikes Chryco, ha, sorry guys) cause that was a copy pasta, and we all have computers or we wouldn't be here, so lose the BS.
I don't feel anyone here has the IQ of a mouse.
I may be wrong, but who here knows this guy ? Sorry Harry, but you know what think about the T thing.

Wow ... very nice, thanks for the warm welcome
Here's another example of me (you know, that faceless guy living under the radar, blending into the background, disappearing amongst the shadows) doing a "simple Google search that anyone with the IQ of a mouse could do", then copy/pasting the result ON THIS SITE and getting a completely different response than the drivel you just posted. Please read the response to my copy/paste from the original poster that comes after my copy/paste. Seems not everyone on this site has your outlook on this most serious issue
check if you can make this a no refunds as is where is deal and confirm pay pal will not give them back their money as a result if they try to open a despute
IF and only IF you get pay pal on board with no refunds as is where is .. then if they still want the ATV take their money and put it on the truck they send
as long as everyone knows there going to be no refunds allowed
and take pics as / when it's loaded to confirm condition at moment of shipping to cover your bum
Are you priced so low that it makes financial sense for this person to pay your price in full AND pay for shipping to Granby and still come out cheaper than buying the same or similar closer to home? A simple internet search (assuming you are at least as smart as a mouse ) for similar machines in Quebec should determine this. If the answer is "no, these people can actually buy the same or similar for less money (than your price and shipping combined) locally", then there is no legitimate reason for this person to want your machine and I'd assume it is a scam.
Another tact would be to agree to a deal that stipulates the delivery driver will hand over the full amount in cash when the machine is picked up.
I was selling a car for just a hair under ten grand. I decided I should go to the bank and ask "what is THE BEST method of accepting payment for an item while limiting the potential for fraud?" She quickly answered "cash" and that is exactly what I accepted when I sold it.
