rear fenders

I got some shoes for my baby a couple of weeks ago.  Super happy with the look of them.  but being wider they now stick out past the fenders.  I knew they would as was planning to build/buy new ones.

You can buy 3" wider units but they still have the taper look to them.  Not quite what I would like to see.  This pic shows more of what I would like.  It helps keep the body lines straighter and makes the rear more square, if I am explaining it correctly.  This pic shows how I would like to be when done, roughly as it is hard to hold and take pics at the same time.  So what its the best way of doing this.  Cutting the fender in half and filling in the middle or making a new piece to go between the box and the fender?

Hi Marten,

If the flange is solid, then start a cut at the back rear about 3" out ,then
taper your cut so it meets the flange at the upper top of the fender. Then make a pie cut piece
to fill in.By keeping it close to the flange, you will stay out of the curved portion.

Thanks Larry
