Thought it might be a better idea to post a reintroduction since it seems to be four or so years since I was here last......
How time flies. Anyhow, my dads 50 Merc pick up is very close to road worthy (22 yrs of on and off building) and the trade off 55 is getting close as well. Currently we are planning a trek to the Atlantic Nationals this summer and hope to have a few miles of smiles on both before we embark on the trip.
I need to send thanks out to my dad and my wife, who conspired together and preregistered the 55..... I guess the heat is on now.
Those are all I have. Not current to where the project is now. I’ll try to get more current pics in the next few days. As for the transformation, we sold the tired old small block and cast iron 2 speed, then traded a rebuild 671 huffer I had sitting on the shelf, along with a few other blower parts in exchange for a warmed up 350. I gathered up a 200R4 from another buddy and welded in the side mount and trans mount kit. You’ll see in one or two of the pics that we had to remove one quarter panel in order to fix some problems that the last owner left.
I guess I’m not really good at posting a build thread. The pics are not really in order.
Anyhow. It is in the last stages for now. Getting shiny stuff as well as new threads. I hope to have it rolling soon
Thanks guys. Someone else started it. She needed to be rescued though. I have my fingers crossed that there will be some colour around the edges at the end of this week. A friend of mine that operates a body and paint shop is finishing up the body work. They were fitting the grill in this am. Only two or three little spots left to work out, reprimand and last block sand, then some colour......
😁
