Well, the 31 has gone....  Being a Brit, living in Ontario now. I had the itch for an English car. So here it is.

its running, has a few snags to sort out, but looks like it could be fun. image.jpeg

I wonder if that's the same yellow one that I saw for sale up around hwy#7 and reesor rd back in the late 80's early 90's ?? .. the wheels make me think yes..

which I've been wondering if , was at one time dean steele's car (sp steele ??) as he posted a pic of being pulled over by a yellow york region malibu sometime around 80 and in the pic his was yellow too

yellow I've found seems to be a theme for these cars .. built a 1/25 one myself .. yeah it was yellow too

Plus, the gold one is a 4 door, unless someone did a real nice job of welding your doors shut.

I have always had a sick fetish for Anglia's and Prefects.. I have always wanted to take a prefect ad weld the back door up but stretch the front door like and Anglia and remove the rear pillar.. the slant back of the prefect is cool but the front clip on an Anglia it bitchin' .. could have the best of both worlds... but very neat car you have non the less

Yes, it was a 4 door, all prefects were... It has a Pop front end.. Or Anglia as they are known in N.America..... It has a lot of history, and is a little confused at the moment, having been through a lot of styles over the years.. It just needs a new identity. Plan is to just get it sorted, dial,in some reliability and enjoy it this year...

The conversion you describe above, with stretched door and one piece rear, looks a tad odd... would be better to just use a Pop body!  The rear side window would just be to large.

All the electrics are now sorted and working.... Took it for a spin.. Its quick! But it don't like to stop! Found a crushed brake line. Between body and diff housing. Looks Like someone launched a little too hard and flattened it! Needs sorting, and fixing, so it does not happen again! Have to get seats in next, and some tuning and tweaking!

Been working on it over the weekends.... Drove it around the neighbourhood a bit..... It steers, runs, is very loud, a bit lacking in the stopping department! Going to bleed brakes and adjust next weekend.
See if that helps. The brake pedal is at a very odd angle. It does not make for easy applied pressure.

The Prefect spent the day with my son at Exotic Motorworks in Newmarket Yesterday. Now has a removable steering wheel hub, It makes it easier to get in and out, and has added some much needed length to the column. Brakes had a flush and new fluid and bleed.
Steering column, and box, had all the excess play taken out! no more scary bump steer! Not a bad days work, especially as I did not do it!

Saturday, I took it into Barrie for the local cruise, Funny how many people are amazed at seeing English modified car, even more interested when they realize I am English too!

Seems to me that I have some old Polaroid pics of some cars I saw up there as a kid. I believe this was one of them, I think there was a yellow Willy's, a blue Hillman delivery.....as I said, I was a kid but a confirmed Piston Head already. I'll have to see if I can find them.

Got glass and dash last weekend at Jalopy Jam Up! All free. So now the work begins. I think I have found all the niggles after the 6 hour drive.
Not too bad to be honest. I will put off the period paint job till I have everything else sorted, even though (for me) it would be the easiest to do.

Seats, steering column, exhaust/headers, and wiring should pretty much sort it out. There are a few engine issues, but hopefully that is all tuning.
