My prefect has an Anglia front end, I've been chasing some electrical Problems. Yesterday, I noticed that the headlights are single element only, so Im guessing no hi beam. Is this ok in the eyes of the law?

Do they have the three prongs on the back?
I never heard of just one element.
Unless they were not made to be headlights.
But, I think you would be legal.
Hi beams are a convenience.

If they are not proper DOT approved headlights, they're not legal.

I don't think they are DOT approved. And no, they do not have the 3 pronged rear, just a single. Might be time to look for an alternative.

I would think its the high beam from a early 60 4  light system . the part # should be H5001

the high beam shouldn't be a problem if its coupled to a lucas system .......

X2  i have heard more than ounce about guys upgrading headlights on bikes to l.e.d. and not passing safety's as the ones they used weren't d.o.t. approved. when i switched over i found it was about 20 to 30 bucks more for the d.o.t. approved.
