Read right to the end....Very interesting and shows how the Government is out of control !!!!

China ... Food for thought.
China has 19% of the world’s population, but consumes ...

53% of the world's cement,

48% of the world's iron ore

47% of the world's coal...
and the majority of just about every other major commodity.

In 2010, China produced 11 times more steel than the United States.

New World Record:

China made and sold 18 million vehicles in 2010.

There are more pigs in China than in the next 43 pork producing nations combined.

China currently has the world’s fastest train and the world’s largest high-speed rail network.
China is currently the number one producer in the world of wind and solar power, but don’t use it themselves (why)?

While they manufacture 80% of the world’s solar panels, they install less than 5% and build a new coal fired power station every week.

In one year they turn on more new coal powered electricity than Australia's total output.

China currently controls more than 90% of the total global supply of rare earth elements.

In the past 15 years, China has moved from 14th place to 2nd place in the world in published scientific research articles.

China now possesses the fastest supercomputer on the entire globe.

At the end of March 2011 China accumulated US $3.04 trillion in foreign currency reserves - the largest stockpile on the entire globe.

Chinese people consume 50,000 cigarettes every second.

They are already the largest carbon dioxide emitter and their output will rise 70% by 2020.

And we think we're saving the planet?

It will not make one iota of difference what we do in Australia, Canada, the United States or anywhere else in the
world; for that matter, all the politicians are doing is

increasing our cost of living and making our manufacturers
uncompetitive in the world market, with the carbon tax, when countries like China are growing and consuming at these
extraordinary rates.   And we are paying carbon tax to save the World?

Not sure how accurate those figures are, but the point is that the worst polluters need to be dealt with before anything will change. We are just pissing in the wind.

also I just read a paper on world trade and on China,s side of the planet they are buying up the rights and leases to shipping ports like crazy . They just bought or leased the rights to Australia largest port , Darwin I think ,on the north shore for 99 years and by 2025 they will control over 40 % of shipping ports in their area .

the china solution is easier than it seems

but in this day and age of lacking self discipline I doubt it would happen

(until you elect me king for a year)

china simply needs to be told to take their ships and junk home
we don't want it until you decide to play nicely with the rest of the world

if no one buys your products or supplies you materials .. YOU'RE SCREWED

period

yea, your right ponch, i was in wow of some of those numbers also, mother/trucker. but i figured if some are only 1/2 true, ie; the amount of coal and cement used, it is still sad. i know they are the largest consumers of pork in the world and they have a serious problem there now with the swine flu which is screwing the rest of the world in not only the pricing but the supply also. they own one of the top 3rd or 4th pork plants in the u.s. and it is pretty much all going home, ouch.  the big plan now is to make sure were pissing down wind---for now anyway.
