What a rotten thing to say, " closed after Jay OD'd"!!! Why couldn't you say "after Jay passed away"?? I don't believe that the whole world needs to know Jay's story, have a little class for youself, and a lot of compassion for his family!!
I'm sympathetic to the feelings of the family but I'm not sure covering up the cause of death helps the fight of the out of control drug epidemic in this country.
If you don't like my answer, don't read it. I've known Jay and his family for about 40 years, and it's not news that he went out that way. His X and 17 year old daughter are in the same game according to his mom.

Pretty hard not to read a post when the first 4 words are "Closed after Jay Od'd" !! I didn't know Jay, but I heard of his death through social media very shortly after it happened. Probably over a hundred postings by people who knew him, not one person smeared his name the way you have!! Rest in Peace Jay, your problems are over!!
On June 8, 2007, the law firms of Rochon Genova LLP and Siskinds LLP filed a class action on behalf of all persons in Canada (excluding Quebec) who were prescribed and ingested Oxycontin against the manufacturers of the drug, Purdue Pharma, Purdue Pharma Inc., Purdue Frederick Inc., The Purdue Frederick Company Inc., and Purdue Pharma LP (the "Defendants").
Addiction, Abuse and Overdose
Oxycontin is prescribed for moderate to severe, chronic pain. Use of Oxycontin has been linked to addiction and abuse of the drug, overdoses and sometimes death. A similar action was filed in Quebec by Siskinds Desmeules in May 2007.
Not settled as of yet..next hearing in September 4&5th.2019.
The claim alleges that the Defendants knew or ought to have known that ingesting Oxycontin leads to drug dependency and addiction. All the best folks
Take care.

it helps to bring it out if they want to help.but maybe just ignore what happens with drug use and it will go away NOT.the ones that did not mention the cause went back into their caves and went blissfully on with what they call life
We ve all lost.. An we all lose when such happens. Bringing awareness an not turning a blind eye. Is what should be seen as having high moral's Anyone who has performed C.P.R.might know The feeling of such events. For those who have not.. Be prepared .. Take a course . Save a life should such present itself.

If mentioning an OD, especially with Fentanyl if it was, saves just one life, then shout it from the roof tops. We are in a lot of trouble with Oxycontin and Fentanyl, if fact at epidemic proportions, so let's keep talking out loud. Sorry for the family, but this must out.
It's not as if this was the first time used this stuff. Anyone that keeps using will at some point not wake up.
Don't think Jay did a bad job running the track, but obviously that didn't give him enough satisfaction, and needed something more to give him a buzz.

For those who are in the need to know.
Ok folks this is not anout me.
It is however about something did experience an eye witness
High morals ..not giving up
If you make sure the individual receives oxygen via cpr.
They will wake up .in the experience elow the individual had lock jaw.
Giving cpr through mouth was not a available.
First half hour was through nose.
Yes very scarey cause u can become cross cominated
An end up rite beside the one you are trying to save
During this experience his mouth eventually fell open
An yes i have officially kissed a guy.to put life bac on track.
If any of this post sheds light an helps someone else save a life
Then it was worth every word posted.
Hope no one finds themselves in such position
But if they do be prepared stay calm..take control do your best.
However still HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking a course.
Peace to all
When someone ingests two much of oxy or fentanyl
It turns the body's brain mechanism off
Hence slows the brain down to the point it forgets to breathe
Kinda like a light switch
Six months or so ago got a phone call from a community members wife.
Her hubby ..(ironically also a j.)
go fly n down to thier home find him dark purple on bathroom floor.
No vitals.
Begin CPR..
After 35 mintues get eye lid twitches..knew at that moment he was coming back.
Then lost him he turned dam near black lips purple.
Never gave up ..never surrender.
All the while two ems all of local fire department would not an did not enter their home to lend a hand
Streets were lined..
Hes still on this planet folks
Im no hero.
Bottom line is this is tragic..no.matter how anyone views such
In the case above.this man had lost his 8 yr duaghter in a tragic auto accident.(years prior)
Which lead to serious depression an the seeking of a way to pass time or say try an forget.
He found fentanyl..
The alledged authority wanted to bag him..hence not coming in to help.
..
We are losingway to many folks due to this disease..
Yes addiction is a disease that can grab hold an take control of anyone.
