Some good news for those who procrastinate.  The ministry is not renewing licenses at this time.  That is to say, if you have a birthday approaching, don't worry about getting to the ministry office to renew.  They are waving renewals at this time.  I am guessing the same holds true for gun licenses and dog licenses and any licenses.  Thought you'd like to know.

I guess I could have been more clear. What I meant to say is that the ministry will honour expired licenses until this virus issue is resolved.

I do mine online. It's quite simple.

If you don't renew on time they still bill you for the period when you finally go online to do it.  Kinda like the mortgage deferrals, they still take the interest for the full period.

I just paid my taxes and I just paid renewal on 5 vehicles.  Why do you think you should get a free ride.  There is no interest, just a deferred payment if things are a little tough right now.

My wife tried to renew and was told the offices are closed and empty. Sorry if I got it wrong. We'll have to check again I guess.

We checked the ministry site again and it said that because of the virus you don't have to renew at this time. It also said that you can but you don't have to. I guess they are just short staffed. Anyway, check the site for yourselves and act accordingly.

Maybe franchises have the option of staying open.
