so ten years ago I bought a nice not to spendy plasma TV.
it had among other things a connector for a computer monitor cable..
nice but I didn't then yet have a computer..
following spring ... I finally buy a computer .. march / April 2010
that cost about three hun and lasted about a year before the CPU burned up..
"cause crappy intel cpu cooling fan + really dusty house
I buy another pooper for about three hun .. again
I get about 9-10 months outta that .. same problem same reasons..
K, I'm now into this for way to much to have just junk .. again..
so, I start buying parts
good decent parts .. not cheep azz junk and not rich maniac extreme
really , I bought a good just going out of "being it" PC gaming motherboard ... a decent "unlocked" i5 CPU .. so I can fiddle with it.. instead of the "better" and more spend i7 CPU
I then splurged a little on the sound card & video card ..seeing as I use the computer for my TV ..gave up cable long ago..
so ... to make sure it all stays working ..
no more crappy inlel fan and heat sink..
I went to water cooling .. 3 radiators .. two pumps and a water column that holds about two beer bottles of water.. whole system prob holds about a gallon of water
I wanna add another remote 5 gallon stainless tank
set up has seven fans but I really don't need to run them as the water volume takes a long time to warm up
the fans might warm things faster blowing hot air through the rads as I don't have A/C and the PC is in the hottest spot in the house
oh yeah .."black Betty" has been running for years
included is pics of a "server" raid card.. it allows MULTIPLES of 24 hard drives to be added ..
I WILL NEVER run outta storage space ..lololol

it's not so hard as long as you have stuff meant to work together ..
case , motherboard are offered in different "chassis" classifications .. meaning a certain board will or will not fit in a certain case
a bigger case fits bigger parts .. simple
it also allows better breathing .. simply more air space
and for cooling you can get an already assembled cooling system for about 150 bucks .. good deal considering the cost of burned out CPU's vs the cheap little fans intel used..
speed would probably be much improved with a solid state hard drive rather than an old mechanical disc style one
and a XXXX ton quieter too without the disc spinning in the PC all the time
equals the noise of a fan .. really
I turn my fans & pumps all the way down and my PC is deathly quoit..
with the solid state hard drive my PC is booted up and running in twenty odd seconds after being switched on
