Many, many years ago I bought the almost mate to that 1968 GTO in Calgary for $500.00

I was always buying and selling cars and most everyone who knew me kept this in mind.

My sister worked in a bank and a co-worker asked her if I might buy an old 1968 Pontiac.

All my sister knew is that it was a standard shift and was supposed to be a driveable car.

Next trip to Calgary she takes me to a nice neighborhood to check out the standard car.

Her friend came out of the house and thanked me for coming all this way to see an old car.

She sheepishly said "I imagine not many people would want a standard shift old Pontiac" ?

Much to my delight it started right up and ran well, I asked if she was sure on the price??

She said she could come down a bit if I it took it away right now, she needed the parking.

No thanks I replied, I'll pay your full asking price of $500.00, it's well worth it to me.

I almost didn't go over as I was expecting to see an old Laurentian 3 speed 6 cyl.

Appreciate the reminder trip down memory lane!!

Most runs weren't that exciting.

Thanks
Randy
