I have heard of car carriers that will bring the car to the border then you can pick it up or have another business pick it up. Unfortunately, I have no names for you.

Have you tried any local non car hauler trucking firms? Sometimes they come home empty and would like a little jingle in their pocket. The real problem is getting them to broker it at the border, but then maybe you could arrange that ahead of time. Car hauling isn't a big deal in Canada. We don't have all those big auctions like they do in the US.

I used a company called Pacific Customs Brokers Inc. to handle the paperwork. Tried to do it myself and the border people were not having any of it. Including giving me a hard time about even bringing my truck into Canada. Was seamless once they had every piece of paper the broker wanted. I did drive and pick up the truck myself so no help there. But if you are getting quotes you'll get someone.

yah - it is impossible to get across without using a broker these days.

i have used this company a couple of times over the years for none auto stuff and found them good to deal with and reasonably priced.

-https://crossborder.solutions/ they are situated in belleville and i know they work with some car wholesalers in the area.

over the years i have brought in at least a dozen old cars and sent a couple of other ones back down without using a broker but none since there were some changes made to the process awhile back. from what i have heard using a broker is the way to go today.

I believe from what I've read elsewhere the broker doesn't just "make it easier" , now, as a broker is NOW REQUIRED by law..

I have used Reliable Carriers out of Michigan a few times.

Had a 55 Lincoln shipped from San Fransisco to my door here in Ontario for about $2200 .
In an enclosed transport. They did everything they said they would do and looked after the paperwork . Beware of some of the brokers that are out there, they lowball you and jerk you around for a while then tell you they want more money.

I also used Reliable when my 29 roadster went to Edinburgh. They picked it up and it was gone! No hassle no worries, although it cost the buyer almost four thousand by the time he had it on the road in Scotland
