Hey everyone, 77 alias Doug (the magnificent) was kind enough to send me these old Hot Rod CARtoon & Cycletoon stickers to plaster on my ride or toolbox. I read these as a kid (and still do actually. I still have them all from the first issue until 1973 and then some odd issues from different years. So let's hear it for Doug ! Thank you again Doug !
Hey that was awesome bbuddy !!! That was axeually Cuddles payment for the stickers . I said you gotta post em and make me sound good Yeah . Cause in Real Life , I,m as cool as Milner , but I axeually a bit more like Beckwith . ha ha I have no idea how old they are . I finished high school 77 0r 78 . So Maybe 73 74 75 ish . You had to send away for them IIRC . You could probably contact the rags an ask how old they are . But if these turn out to be worth a million I,ll be expectin a lil check shortly ha ha And posting them , this way everybody gets to see a cool bit of history .
Edit note they stayed in such good condition cause they never been in sun or room light . I think if you wanted to put them on a car window or something . I would spend a few bucks and get a printing shop to make you copies , then you could stick them anywheres and keep the original ones safe

Wherever I put them, it will be prominent. Thank you again 77. In the current issues of CARtoons, they devote a page or two to tell you how to build and repair stuff or give a detailed history of some aspect of hot rods. Some of the current artwork isn't what it used to be. Hard to get good artists I guess. But still, these mags take me back decades. Nice to see the artists renditions of old Pontiacs and life way back when.
looking at hobby stuff recently I've found the secondary market has grown by leaps & bounds
one of the things I've found is water transfer decal paper that you can buy by the sheet
all you have to have is a printer that scans and copies like a photocopier.. then you can make copies of the decal sheets from old kits .. both preserving the originals .. which likely would split to pieces if you try to use them and allowing you to "still use 'em" too
a quick google search will find it easy enough along with how to videos
