Mystery Hubcaps
Permalink

So the other day I picked up a couple of old nine inch hubcaps at a fleamarket here in the UK. Been wracking my brain ever since.

Just can't think what car they'd have been on. At first I figured they must be British or European but I didn't have any luck with that.

When I looked further afield I noticed that the four pointed star logo design on my hubcaps is a pretty close match to the star logo on Canadian Ford Meteor hubcaps.

Trouble is I can't find an exact match anywhere on Google and with no other reference available to me here, I figured Ontario Rodders would be a good place to get help.

Can anyone tell me if the hubcaps are indeed from a Canadian Meteor? If so what year would they be?

It would be amazing if anyone has a pic of a Meteor with those hubcaps fitted.

Not Ford Meteor.
Ford wheels took the 10" hub cap.

Thanks for that input Jarvis.

That's narrowed things down a bit. Now I know the hubcaps aren't Ford Meteor I'm guessing my first instinct was right and they're most likely British.

Doesn't solve the mystery because I still can't find hubcaps that match on any British or European marque.

There are two other things to take into account however. The quality is rather poor and there were only two.

My conclusion therefore is that they're probably aftermarket and were more than likely intended for a caravan (travel trailer).

And that's the best I can do for now.

The cap itself is the shape of a Morris but the middle is new to me.

Just seen that middle logo as well. Guessing that's an aftermarket hubcap.
