I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you. There are ill informed people in this world who honestly believe that older cars, particularly of the gas engine type are the ruination of this world. Their mistaken belief that the only solution is to force out the old cars and replace them with EVs has them closing their eyes and mind to the destruction that the mining of lithium and the disposal of batteries and used up wind turbines is causing. Unfortunately we are on the losing end of that argument. Electricity was developed to power stoves and fridges, not cars and planes.

It doesn't look like much of a money grab as most people will be forced to scrap the older cars @ 2k per. Seems more like a forced incentive to buy new. If the electric cars are as good as they say, why do they need such forceful measures to get people to by in? I guess business has changed, instead of building a good product to get people to buy, you lobby the government to force the middle income to buy your product. I remember John Tory praised Londons efforts during his last visit, I wonder if he has this in mind for us too?
I read an article some time ago .. I don't have it handy now off hand but it was about the human cost of the pollution created by the various forms of energy generation
far far worst .. it's gonna be a surprise to some
it ain't coal or gas it ain't nuclear power it SURE ain't wind turbines no the leading numbers ..IE highest death rate per 100 000 say ... was solar
because the manufacture and disposal of solar cells is simply SOOOO toxic .. it stands as number 1
in other news ... I watched a show about fishermen on the american Atlantic coast
they were coming down with rashes and neurological issues ..
seems they became sensitized to the water they were fishing in..
turns out the waste washing out of the pig farms inland was the issue
soo
one bad hail storm or a tornado wiping out a batch of solar farms .. it ain't gonna turn out well
