lol
fiberglass with to many cracks to repair
??
there is no such thing..

I fixed a buddy's dually f350 fender after he backed it into a tree.. it was missing some chunks but we saved most of them

some self drilling/taping sheetmetal screws .. some aluminum I bean style curtain rod (makes great temp bracing and a "bucket full of fiberglass...good as new

Well I learned a few things this week. I learned I couldn't afford
to buy and import a new one from the States. I learned the guys
who do repairs on fiberglass components are very busy and I did
not want to loose a couple months of a short summer drive time.
So I also learned maybe this was something I could do. So i gathered resin and
hardener , sizzers , fiber glass matting , grinder, mask goggles and last but
most important a coffee and Google University. Put that all together stur it up, and
add a series of clamps, old tires for supports, bungee cords, and you end up with a
reasonable repair to get you thru the summer if no one looks to close. Oh ya another
thing I learned in one of those "oh **** " moments was , given its a tilt front end, it is probably a good idea to remember to put the
hinges back on before the fiberglass hardens . Ed

eah,
look at it this way,

after the hinge points harden for a few days you should have a stronger area to install the hinges..

to add ..been seeing the little avatar pic of your car for years now .. some more pics of it would be a cool thing to see..

been thinkin' that a long time now..

good luck ed. i have no doubt that you are capable of giving this a good old fashion kick at the cat sort of thing being that you are already a tradesman to boot. back in the seventies when they first brought out glass flip fronts on hiway tractors there was problems with cracking due to the vibrations and torque but in time they figured it out and you don't hear much anymore about it. on the lighter side of this ed lol, flat black isn't a hard color to match up.  again good luck bud.

Thanks Shag, another good thing is all my buddies are old enough that from ten
feet they would never notice any whoops. Ed
