I finally got the headlights back on.  A little welding and adjusting and the mounts fit just fine. Almost ready for Spring.

Damn right ! Can't wait for Spring. I had a great day today. The weather looked gloomy outside but from under the rod, you can't tell anyway.
It was quite an experience actually. I modified part of my gear shift so I can have a short shift. Then I spent about 20 minutes turning a wrench and I don't mean just tightening a nut. I mean tighten the nut- turn the wrench over end to end and tighten the nut - repeat - endlessly ! I only had enough room to turn the nut each time less than 1/4". What a chore. So this is another aspect of this hobby new to me. A socket wrench won't fit so just enjoy the moment with the rod on jack stands and my nose still touching the underside of my ride. If I inhale, I have no room at all under there.
Then when I finally had all snugged up, I discover that the linkage won't fit now unless I remove what I just installed and bend the linkage and reinstall. But today was the last day warm enough. All well. I'll get a heater next year maybe. At least the linkage will get done in the Spring. I'm just anxious to see if my shift throw has changed enough. If it has, next Spring will be a blast !
