I bought this Snap On tire changer a couple of months ago seeing it was never in commercial use. I got new nylon protective inserts for the head not to mark the aluminum rims and now set to go. ALL MOST.  I am missing the bar to lift the bead so my question is there any out there that someone wants to get rid of? I have a length of 1 X 3/8 flat bar to make one if need be depending on price. If I use this machine 4 X a year will be lots for me but it will save going in to town. Had Canadian Tire fix a flat on my flat bed at $54 and I took the tire off the trailer. So it was a good reason to make the move. Posted a pic of machine for reference.

Looking for one myself, with half a dozen drivers on the road between my girls, wife and myself
I'm finding myself feeding the tire guy pretty regularly, lol..

I'm kind lucky in that dept. My good buddy owns a tire shop so when ever I need something we just do some fur trading....Most of the time I over pay though...
a question to the guy's who mount their own tires... after you mount them do you then bring them to the tire shop to have them balanced or just ignore the speed hop or vibration?
I personally would be irked if someone bought tires somewhere else.... bought a tire machine to save on paying the guy who then finishes the job and cant afford to pay his technicians, his mortgage, Utilities.... for a couple of bucks to balance them.
a job that could have brought money to pay someone's wage is now reduced to coffee money....
See where I'm going with this?

How about the guy that does his own body work then sends it out for paint.
Bills Truck Shop like many places has a shop out back to install parts you buy there so I guess we should have him install. New car dealers also have a repair shop so we should stop using where ever and have our car serviced where you bought it. Canadian Tire has a parts counter and a repair shop so what is the difference.
I paid 650 for a Snap On rim clamp so I will always get my money back when my friends I am through using it.
I see many threads here about Rock Auto an Summit Racing, so to go one step further we should stop buying from them and buy locally.
As for balance if you do not have a balance machine spin the tire 180 generally greatly improves the balance as we did at work. But most have a balance machine. There are many of them for sale on KIJIJI if you want one.
I do have a 3400 sq ft. hobby shop where I can machine, weld, sand blast, assemble or mount tires and I never feel guilty repairing or installing parts on my own vehicles.
There is no end to this topic and hot rodding would be a very limited hobby if you went by the idea of who supplies the parts should install it if that service was offered.
